Gibson County Football Preview

Gibson county football team are setting their sights on the upcoming season. Because
last season is definitely one they are happy that is behind them.

They had a 0-7 record in their district and 1-9 overall. This program also has not had the smoothest offseason being that
they lost some kids due to them transferring
and others who just decided to step away. They are even in a position
where numbers wise they have less than last year’s team. Which
can put them at a disadvantage in matchups. Offensively they recorded six
games in last year campaign where they scored zero points and defensively
gave up at least 50 or more points in five contests. However ,we caught up
with head coach Kyle Pack and he talked things his squad can do to improve their
winning percentage and what he’s trying to instill in them, as well as who you
should keep your eye on when they hit the field. Take a listen.

“We needed to get a lot stronger and faster and bigger we needed more kids coming out because we were very young last year you know our last probably five games we started five or six freshman both ways so just getting those younger guys bigger and stronger so they dont get pushed around so much was the biggest goal of the offseason. That their confident they worked

hard in the weightroom in the offseason and their speed training and all that stuff i need them to be confident that they can go out and win a football game and play four quarters and win i need them
to be confident. Our quarterback Caleb Simms is a sophomore he’s worked really hard he’s gone to Texas this summer and i think Florida competing in some 7 on 7’s competitions. He’s proving himself to be a leader even as a sophomore so he’s probably our player to watch this year.

They kick the season off hosting West Carroll on Friday August 22nd at 7:00 pm.
