JACKSON, Tenn. — The Salvation Army of Jackson is hosting their “Stuff the Bus” event which includes residents purchasing school supplies for students who may need it.
How it works is volunteers will hand shoppers a school supply list.
Buyers then purchase items from the list and it then is distributed to Jackson-Madison County, Milan, Humboldt, and Bolivar schools.
This Saturday, at Walmarts in those counties from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m., a school bus will be outside of participating Walmarts.
For residents in Bolivar, there will be a fire truck from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m., and an ice cream truck with a portion of profits being donated.
“We have a Sign Up Genius that will help folks know where to get plugged in; what spots are available at each location, each Walmart and that’s available on our Facebook page,” said Clint Beilke, development manager with Salvation Army of Jackson.
