Community Update from Sheriff Troy Klyce

-

We are pleased to announce that Crockett County has not experienced any traffic-related fatalities in over 15 months! This positive trend reflects the commitment of our residents to safety on the roads.

We’re also excited to share that traffic crashes, including those resulting in injuries and serious injuries, are significantly down in our county for 2025. This is due in part to the Governor’s Highway Safety Office grant we received last year to increase our patrol and enforcement efforts and from public information efforts to ensure everyone knows the dangers of excessive speed, distracted driving, and driving while impaired.

“Thank you to my deputies, the THP, and all law enforcement agencies for doing your part to keep our roads safe. The work you all do is difficult and dangerous – your commitment to safety is remarkable! Thank you to our citizens for putting down your cell phones, obeying traffic laws, refusing to drive impaired, and showing kindness to your fellow motorists. This results in crash prevention and lives saved. Your efforts contribute to a safer community, and we appreciate your dedication to road safety,” stated Sheriff Klyce.

We understand that crashes can happen randomly, and tragedy could strike at any moment. We certainly hope that’s not the case, but for now, this milestone is worth celebrating. Keep up the safe driving!
