Denver Air strengthening connections for travelers in West Tennessee

MADISON COUNTY, Tenn. — Denver Air Connection currently offers direct flights from Jackson to Atlanta and Chicago.

Both flights depart before noon, with Atlanta departing as early as 8 a.m.

Last week, the airline hit 77 passengers in one day.

“Which is a big deal. You’ve got the plan about 75% full on each flight,” said Tonya Ruhsenberger, Communications and Community Engagement Manager for Denver Air Connection.

Denver Air says, for new markets, this is one of the fastest growing they have experienced.

Before Denver Air came to Jackson Regional Airport, the prior airline was flying twin turbine prop planes.

“We actually have jet service here,” Ruhsenberger said. “So you are not flying on a small airplane. We have flight attendants, we have our famous full-size snacks, and you know, bathrooms on the airplane.”

Passengers can also access a wider range of destinations and routes, because Denver Air offers interline agreements.

“On one reservation you can make a connection on American, United or Delta,” Ruhsenberger said.

This gives flyers unlimited connection opportunities.

“You don’t have to drive to Memphis anymore,” said Ruhsenberger. “You don’t have to drive to Nashville.”
