Free screening of ‘Jaws’ celebrates 50th anniversary at Rockabillys Stadium
JACKSON, Tenn. — Think we need a bigger boat? How about a stadium?
2025 marks the 50th anniversary of one of Hollywood’s most iconic films: “Jaws.”
Known as the first “blockbuster” movie, the impact of “Jaws” shaped not only cinema and the moviegoing experience, but also how we feel at the beach.
The 1975 film starring Roy Scheider, Robert Shaw and Richard Dreyfuss (and an impressive mechanical shark known by the crew as “Bruce”) grossed over $477 million on just a $7 million budget, according to IMDb. The movie spawned three sequels, video games, merchandise, theme park rides, and countless imitations inspired by the shark-fueled flick.
50 years later, the classic is coming to the Hub City for a special screening at no cost.
The Jackson Rockabillys invite the public to the free screening on Monday, July 28. The movie night will take place at Rockabillys Stadium, with showtime beginning at 8 p.m.
Admission is free and concessions will be available for purchase.
Attendees are welcome to bring a chair or blanket or grab a seat in the stands for a thrilling night under the stars.
The stadium is located at 4 Fun Place in Jackson.
