Tax-free weekend has officially begun. Here’s what to know
JACKSON, Tenn. — Are you ready for big savings on your back-to-school needs? The tax-free holiday weekend has begun.
Starting Friday and going through Sunday, July 27, you can purchase all of your back-to-school needs without paying sales tax.
This nearly 10% deal applies to general apparel and school supplies priced at $100 or less and electronics priced at $1,500 or less. But that’s not all, several stores are offering even more deals.
“So, in addition to our tax-free holiday this weekend, our Kohl’s customers can enjoy our friends and family event and enjoy a 20% off coupon in-store and online, $10 Kohl’s cash for every $50 spent, and for customers who open and use a Kohl’s card, those customers can enjoy a 40% discount on eligible items,” said Matt Kent, store manager at Kohl’s.
Kohl’s has a wide variety of school uniforms, backpacks, denim, shoes and your favorite brands.
Tax-free weekend is not only a way for families to get their school shopping done, it’s also a chance to spend time together.
And if your kid is into extracurriculars, Academy Sports has everything you need. To help you save even more, prices will not increase on youth apparel and footwear from what they were last year.
“Well look, the more money they can save the better. A lot of families have several children, and it is expensive as a parent, you know, putting your kids through football, volleyball. You want them to have nice clothes and nice shoes, and, you know, they grow so you’re always buying new stuff. So, holding that value proposal for our customers is just a way to give back to them for being our customers,” said Steve Johnson, store manager at Academy Sports.
Whether you’re looking for back-to-school shoes, clothes, or those school uniforms, Kohl’s and also Academy Sports has everything you need.
