The event took place from 11 Saturday morning until 4pm at the JMC Field House located at 332 Lane Avenue.
The event was a great way for parents and guardians to prepare their kids for the start of school.
The event included a supply giveaway, health checks, and a cook out.
Guests could enjoy fun activities like rock climbing, face painting, time in the gaming truck, as well as free food and school supplies.
“This event has been a great partnership with various organizations throughout the community. Jackson Madison County Schools and Omega Psi Phi Fraternity have a great partnership. We’ve also included student vaccinations and immunizations if they need to, so we have a partnership with the Madison County Health Department as well as, school and of course, our literacy campaign Leap Up for Literacy,” said Diane Watkins, Associate Superintendent of JMCSS.
The event was free and geared towards school aged kids K-8th grade.
