Pets Rock Fest returns to the Hub City

JACKSON, Tenn.—One local event returns to put man’s best friend in the spotlight!

The Pets Rock fest returned to the Hub City Saturday!

The event dedicated to making the lives of animals better took place at the Jackson Fairgrounds.

The festival hosted this year by Jackson Animal Care Center, began at 10 in the morning and continued until 4pm.

Pets Rock offered fun with bounce houses and waterslide for the kids, entertainment from the Dock Dogs, along with vendors and food trucks available to shop.

This year, there were exciting new events including a weenie dog run, and foam dog party.

But the highlight of the festival remains…the animals. Featuring the opportunity to check out some of the most precious pets, currently available for adoption.

The event also includes an opportunity to have your pet microchipped at a discount rate or obtain spay and neuter vouchers.

“Jackson has historically not been overly pet friendly and so you have a lot of pet owners that don’t have a lot of outing opportunities for their pets. We want to change that and make Jackson a more pet friendly city. It’s also a resource sharing opportunity,” said Whitney Owen, Director of Animal Services for City of Jackson.

“Every year we grow and our goal is to grow to be one of the largest adoption events in the state,” said Kindall Thomas, Co-organizer, Pets Rock Fest.

Admission to Pets Rock was $5 and proceeds go to support Jackson Animal Care Center’s spay and neuter assistance program.
