‘Honk for Jesus’: Local cyclist shares ministry on the road
JACKSON, Tenn. — One Jackson resident is making a difference with a message of positivity.
Meet a frequent cyclist, David Hellmann, who has a ministry out of his home with his wife and gets out all over the city everyday to spread the gospel of Jesus.
He visits several hundred businesses around the Hub City to pass out scriptures to customers and patients in the area.
Drivers passing along the roadway have a call and response from Hellmann to ‘honk for Jesus.’
His message is to bring unity, peace and prayer back into the community.
“We’re divided a lot by denominations and different doctrines and so forth, but all to me the bottom line is Jesus Christ. He’s what has to be lifted up today. So, that’s what we’re trying to do. A lot of people honk at us, and give us encouragement along the way,” said Hellmann.
