RECAP: Latest updates in ongoing search for Austin Drummond
JACKSON, Tenn. — In our continuing coverage of the ongoing manhunt, another arrest has been made in connection to the ongoing search for Austin Drummond.
We spoke with 29th Judicial District Attorney Danny Goodman, Jr. on the third arrest, and about another arrest in connection with Drummond, but not in connection to the murders of the four individuals.
We also spoke with a neighbor who caught Drummond on camera roaming in his yard. Here’s the latest.
DA Goodman talks most recent arrest, manhunt continues
“There is a Brandon Powell that has been arrested, who is a friend of Austin Drummond, but he has been charged, but it’s with an event that happened prior to the homicides,” said DA Goodman.
So far Tanaka Brown, Giovonte Thomas, and Dearrah Sanders have been arrested in connection to Drummond. Brown, Thomas, and Sanders are all facing the charge of accessory after the fact of 1st degree murder. Brown is also facing a charge of tampering with evidence.
Brown and Sanders were arraigned Monday morning with a set bond of $250,000 and Thomas and Powell both will be arraigned soon.
On Monday morning, WBBJ 7 Eyewitness News tipsters shared that there was a heavy police presence in north Jackson.

“The only thing that I can say about that is there was information that he may be in that area. They thought that the information was reliable enough that they really concentrated on there today,” said DA Goodman.
Local resident catches Drummond on camera
One resident shared the footage from his home cameras. He said he received an alert of movement on one camera, however, after opening his mobile app he saw Drummond moving in his yard.
“Of course you can imagine my shock as I’m looking at this and it hit 4:34 this morning and here he came walking out from beside my shop and walked up across the driveway on out towards the road. It was a pretty unsettling moment to think that this guy that they’re looking for just walked through, right through my yard,” said Ray Condray, Jackson resident.

What to know in case you spot Drummond
DA Goodman warns residents to contact their local authorities and the TBI hotline at 1-800-TBI-FIND if they spot Drummond or have any information that will lead to his arrest.
“He is still armed. Obviously, he is a very dangerous individual which we have said previously. The community needs to be very cautious and vigilant and pay attention to their surroundings at this point,” said DA Goodman.
The Jackson Police Department also urges residents on Pipkin Road and Cherry Groves Apartments that, if have cameras outside of their home, to look at footage on the night of August 3.

“Well I think that we just know that he is probably still in the area. We’re looking for any assistance that we can get. Home cameras are a big part of the investigation, so, you may never know what you get on your camera,” said DA Goodman.
A person claiming to be the father of Austin Drummond also sent us a written statement saying in part, “We urge Austin to turn himself in and end the panic and misery so many are feeling.”
