Commercial Bank and Trust announces new vice president, loan officer and branch Manager at North Highland office

JACKSON, TN, August 4, 2025 — Commercial Bank and Trust (CBTC) is pleased to announce the addition of Ashley Barnes to their North Highland Office as Vice President, Loan Officer, and Branch Manager.

In this role, she will build and maintain relationships with new and existing clients while providing exceptional personal service. She joins CBTC with almost two decades of experience in banking and a strong skillset encompassing loans, client relationships, and branch leadership.

Ashley is a Chester County native with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Union University in Jackson, where she was a member of Zeta Tau Alpha. Barnes also holds a Graduate Banking Certificate from the Southeastern School of Banking in Nashville. She started her banking career in 2007, working as a Customer Service Representative at Community Bank.

In 15 years, Barnes advanced to several positions, including Online Banking & Document Imaging Specialist, Loan Officer, and Branch Manager of a financial institution in Jackson, ending her tenure in 2022 as Vice President and Senior Commercial Loan Officer. Most recently, she worked at FirstBank in Henderson as a Vice President and Senior Relationship Manager, where she focused on cultivating a new customer base while sustaining the existing commercial and consumer loan clientele.

Outside of work, Barnes maintains strong ties to her local community. In 2010, she was a participant in Leadership Henderson County. Currently she sings with the worship team at the Lighthouse Church in Jackson and also serves on the Central Board of Directors at the Carl Perkins Center. Barnes and her husband of 18 years, Joel, enjoy watching their 7-year-old son’s baseball, football, and basketball games at Jackson Christian School.
