Deadline approaching to apply for FEMA assistance

The deadline to apply for disaster relief is quickly approaching. August 19th is your last chance to apply for FEMA’s disaster relief.
This applies to everyone affected by the severe storms back in April of this year.

“Anyone impacted by the storems in April who maybe had to replace or repair something as the result of damages they are dealing with, reach out to us and let us have a conversation and let us know if we can help. That applies to home owners, renters, and a lot of time insurance won’t cover everything or maybe they didn’t cover enough. Typically those are the situations where FEMA could possibly help you out,” explained Trey Paul with FEMA.

To apply you can visit the Obion county library’s disaster recovery center in Union City or the safe haven shelter in Grand Junction. You can also download the FEMA app or visit their disaster assistance website .
