Dangerous Heat And Humidity Continues Today

Weather Update: Monday, August 18 —

Dangerous to deadly heat and humidity return under a seasonably strong broad area of high pressure. Temps this morning are starting out in the mid-70s, expect that to climb rapidly today through the 80s and into the 90 well before Noon. The only saving grace today is the slightly drier air expected to mix down this afternoon in the atmosphere over and around the Tennessee Valley. This will keep the Relative humidity around 49-53% today will limit the heat index to 109°F especially along and east of US 45E.

Having said that, its till plenty dangerous or even deadly for those sensitive to the extreme heat. It won’t take long for heat related illness will set in today. Staying hydrated drinking plenty of water, taking frequent breaks, wearing light-weighted/color clothing helps.
