Obion County Fair returns for another year of fun

OBION COUNTY, Tenn. — One festival returns to a local county with even more fair fun.

It’s day one of the 67th annual Obion County Fair and to celebrate the opening they held a special ribbon cutting.

To start the ceremony, Trail Life USA troops raised the American and Tennessee flags while the national anthem was sung.

Every year, one individual is inducted into the Obion County Fair Hall of Fame, and this year’s inductee is Tammy Sparks.

“This year the inductee is Tammy Sparks, she passed away in early July. She has been a board member for at least 15 maybe even 20 years. She was a co-coordinator of all of our beauty pageants and she was a big help in a lot of different areas, but that was her main area,” said Blake Laws, president of the Obion County Fair.

Guests are invited to enjoy all the festive fun through Saturday, August 23.
