WBBJ 7 Forecast Update
WBBJ 7 Forecast Update:
It has been another hot one today in West Tennessee. Thank goodness the humidity is normal with the dew points staying in the low 70s. If they were in the upper 70s, it would be feeling 115° instead of 105° today in Jackson. We are looking at one more shot at 100° on Tuesday before cooler weather slowly trickles in on Wednesday. The next front is coming on Wednesday and another front will look to push through sometime during the upcoming weekend. Shower and storm chances return late Tuesday and will impact many of us on Wednesday. Catch the latest and full forecast details coming up here.

THIS WEEK:
After hitting 100° this weekend in West Tennessee most of us made it up to 99° at least on Monday. The heat will continue on Tuesday before we cool back down some on Wednesday. We also saw mostly sunny skies and rain showers have been nowhere to be seen for a few days. Skies will remain mostly clear tonight and none of us will be getting wet. The winds will turn up calm but will continue to have a northerly component to them keeping the humidity down just a tad. Overnight lows will fall down to the mid 70s tonight.

Tuesday is going to start out HOT with most of us getting back up to around 100° in the afternoon and early evening hours. The skies will start out sunny but some clouds will build in as the day goes on. Some showers and storms will also be possible in the evening and early night time hours as a cold front dropping in from the north will get closer to West Tennessee. The winds will be light out of the northeast but it will still be humid enough to feel between 105-110° for most of us. Some of the showers could produce brief heavy rain, lightning and some isolated wind gusts. A severe storm or two will be possible Tuesday evening. Chances for rain on Tuesday are 30%. Tuesday night lows will fall down to the low 70s.

The cold front will move through and stall out during the day on Wednesday. This front will bring a decent shot and showers and storms. The severe weather threat seems low on Wednesday but a severe windstorm or two cannot be ruled out. Chances for rain on Wednesday are 50% in West Tennessee. Highs will reach the mid 90s still and overnight lows will fall down to around 70°. Skies will be partly cloudy early in the day and could be mostly cloudy into the evening hours. The winds will be a bit breezy at times but should come out of the north all day long.

Thursday is going to be a mostly dry day but some showers and storms will be possible in the front stalls out and does not move completely through West Tennessee. Chances for rain are only 20% as of now but we will be watching the location of the front as it moves into our area on Wednesday. Highs on Thursday will reach the low 90s back down to near normal. Skies will be partly cloudy and winds will continue to come out of the north. Thursday night lows will be nice and fall into the upper 60s.
Friday looks like a mostly dry day. Rain showers cannot be completely ruled out but the weather is looking pretty nice for the first full weekend of High School Football in West Tennessee. Friday will still be a bit warm but much cooler than it was when we kicked off the week. Highs will reach the low 90s and expect some early sunshine with a few late clouds moving in. Rain chances are 10% and the winds will be light and come out of the north between 5-10 mph.
THIS WEEKEND:
The weekend weather looks like it is going to be really nice across West Tennessee. Rain chances are currently below 10% both days. The winds will be light and come out of the north. It may be a bit breezy for a few hours when the next cold front will move through. Timing on that front is still yet to be determined but it looks to come through sometime during the back half of the weekend. Highs will reach the mid 90s on Saturday but cool down to the low 90s on Sunday. The humidity looks low for West Tennessee standards which will feel nice. Saturday night we will drop to the upper 60s but Sunday night lows could fall all the way down into the mid 60s. Expect a mostly sunny and very nice weekend, you should make some outdoor plans!
