Studies show a rise in spirituality among today’s youth

JACKSON, Tenn. — In today’s health watch, spirituality is on the rise among today’s youth.

Recent studies show 77% of Gen-z consider themselves to be spiritual.

The U.S. Army is experiencing this shift firsthand. Army Chaplain, James Drake says ‘spiritual readiness’ helps soldiers build strength, resilience and a sense of purpose on and off the battlefield.

“Children who have wrestled with some of these bigger questions in life and have a faith background, they are better able to cope with stress, have a greater sense of purpose [and] derive greater feelings of joy,” said Chaplain Drake.

Chaplain Drake says this is not just true for soldiers, it’s true for civilians. He advises Gen-z to start by understanding their deeper purpose, which will naturally guide them toward discovering what they want to achieve and how to get there.
