Sweet Tea Festival kicks off in downtown McKenzie

MCKENZIE, Tenn. — One local town is getting ready to flood their downtown with sweet tea.

The Sweet Tea Festival is taking place at downtown park in McKenzie. At 6 p.m., there will be arts and craft vendors, delicious food and live music.

The fun will then continue all day saturday. The headliner music act is ‘party planet’ who will take the stage at eight o’clock saturday evening.

“We’ll have a neat vendor coming this year that has, for the men, that’ll have fishing on his truck. Fishing bait, and things like that,” said Jennifer Waldurp, city recorder.

This is the 12th year for the Sweet Tea Festival.
