Cotton Festival continues with car show and arts & crafts

FRIENDSHIP, Tenn.—One local festival is still offering up fun, the Cotton Festival continues in Crockett County.

The festival took place Saturday at the Crockett Mills Community Center in Friendship.

The events kicked off in the morning between 8 and 9 a.m. and continued throughout the afternoon.

The day  featured a car, truck, and tractor show. There were all sorts of vehicles on site to check out including vintage rides, motorcycles, and farm-type vehicles. Entry fee was $20 and awards were presented to the winners.

And if that wasn’t your idea of fun, you could head inside to check out the arts and crafts fair. Guests could peruse various handmade craft items for purchase, like jewelry, knitted goods, handmade treats and more.

“We just came to show our cars. I’ve collected Models T’s for 45 years and a lot of people like to see them and the way we save these cars is to show them. He did more to change the world than anything that’s ever been invented because it allowed county people to come to town,” said Ricky Williams, President of Tennessee T’s.

The Cotton Festival is celebrating its 39th year and proceeds from the event go to benefit the Crockett Mills Community Center.
