First United Methodist Church Downtown hosts Popsicles in the Park

JACKSON, Tenn.—One local church bids farewell to Summer with a special event.

First United Methodist Church of Downtown Jackson hosted Popsicles in the Park this evening. The fun took place at Conger Park beginning at 6 p.m.

There were delicious hotdogs grilled up while the kids took the time to play.

Church members then joined together to enjoy the dinner and one another’s company.

And what better way to cool off after playing on a hot day than with a delicious popsicle.

“We started doing this about five years ago,” said Travis Penney, Lead Pastor at Jackson First Methodist Church. “Just a way to connect with the community and offer a little bit of love and support just to be here with our neighbors. It’s a great time to reach out on a warm day and give a popsicle.”

Popsicles in the Park is an annual event for First United Methodist Downtown.

It is the perfect way to spend time together as a church community and say so long to the Summer season.
