Brittney Lynne Whitaker
Brittney Lynne Whitaker, age 40, of Mercer, Tennessee, passed away peacefully at her home on August 22, 2025.
She was born in Memphis, Tennessee, on January 17, 1985, and throughout her life was known for her adventurous spirit, deep faith, and the love she poured into her family, friends, and beloved dog, Stagger.
Brittney had many passions that brought her joy. She loved the thrill of sprint car racing on dirt tracks, the peace of camping under the stars, and the comfort she found in reading her Bible. She was also a devoted fan of the Atlanta Braves, cheering for them faithfully each season.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Debra Schmidt Arnold and step father, Craig Arnold; her uncle, Wesley Whitaker; her grandfather, Jack Whitaker; and her grandmother, Joyce Schmidt.
She is survived by her father, Jack Whitaker, and stepmother, Susan Whitaker; her brother, Nick Wild (Alli); her grandmother, Rhoda Whitaker; her grandfather, Thomas Schmidt; her aunts, Teresa Wilson and Pam; her uncles, Jamie Whitaker and David; her nephews, Braxton, Benson, Atlas, and Dante; along with many cousins and extended family members who will carry her memory with them always.
No services will be held at this time.
Brittney will be remembered for her love of life, her faith, and the special bond she shared with all who knew her.
