Most of us Missed out Again on the Rain Thursday, Few More Chances Next Week!
WBBJ 7 Forecast Update
WBBJ 7 Forecast Update:
Steady rain is coming down in Memphis and areas to the southwest in Arkansas and Mississippi, but most of us here in West Tennessee are getting skunked again on the rain. There will be a few more chances for rain as we kick off next week but dry weather is expected for the next few days. We are going to warm back up near normal for the weekend but overall, the weather is looking pretty cool for this time of the year in the forecast. Catch your complete Labor Day weekend and your Friday night football forecasts coming up here.

THIS WEEK:
The best shot for rain this week was on Thursday here in West Tennessee. A few weak storms and rain showers came down in Shelby county and around Memphis, but most of us missed out, just like on like Monday. All of us were be dealing with mostly cloudy skies though and that kept the temperatures down with highs only reaching the upper 70s to near 80° on Thursday. Thursday night lows will fall down to the mid 50s again. Some of the rain chances could linger into Friday morning but by Friday afternoon, dry and mild weather will be returning. Highs on Friday will reach the low to mid 80s and the weather looks great again for Friday night Football in West Tennessee. The skies will be mostly sunny on Friday and the winds will be light and come out of the east. We really need the rain as a moderate drought has set up for pretty much all of West Tennessee.

LABOR DAY & WEEKEND:
Both days this weekend look pretty nice and mild across the Mid South. Highs will reach the mid 80s and morning lows will drop down to around 60° both day. Expect mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies. The winds will come out of the northeast all weekend long keeping the humidity down as well. Shower chances as of now appear to be 10% or less for both days. Highs will reach the upper 80s to near 90° for some of us and morning lows will be in the low 60s. The winds will be light and come out of the northeast all weekend long keeping the humidity down. Make some plans this weekend, it looks like a great one for a BBQ for the first Saturday of college football for most teams in our area.

There could be a few more showers as we kick off next week but confidence is low in that forecast at this time. Chances for rain on Labor Day and next Tuesday are 30% with the best chances being areas near the Tennessee River. A few showers may linger into Wednesday but rain chances will be going down again by the end of the following work week. Highs on Labor Day with still be in the upper 80s with morning lows in the low 60s. Temperatures will drop into the mid 80s during the middle of the week with morning lows hanging around into the low 60s. Another front could be on the way as we wrap up next week and head into the next weekend.
