Labor Day brings families, communities together across West Tennessee

LEXINGTON, Tenn. — One West Tennessee hotspot had quite the turnout for Labor Day.

Boaters came out in full force to Beech Lake in Lexington to celebrate the holiday.

And those who don’t have their own boat, don’t worry, as Beech Lake has you covered. You can rent a boat $25 for about two hours.

To rent the kayaks, you’ll need to download the “Rent Fun” app and make an account. Rent the kayak you like, throw on your U.S. Coast Guard-approved life jacket and take off.

The smells of grilling and sunscreen near the lakeshore were strong, but most of the people had gotten onto their boats and started riding, some even pushing their boats to the limits.

We saw a couple speedboats on the water. It was a fantastic day at the lake, and the weather was perfect for it.

Furry friends also made their way out to the lake. Even a flock of ducks were patiently waiting for a few scraps on the shore.

Another big event is kicking off this Labor Day. The Dyer County Fair kicks off Monday evening.
