Cornhole tournament kicks off amid annual Soybean Festival

JACKSON, Tenn. — The fun kicked off at 8 a.m. in the Hub City as registration began for an annual cornhole tournament.

The tournament kicked off at 9 a.m. with prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places in both divisions. Prizes were sponsored by the West Tennessee Public Utility District.

The festival parade will begin at 6:30 p.m., and will go along University and Lindell Streets. The 2025 grand marshal is the David Coates Family and Farm.

“I’m not very familiar in cornhole; I’m not very good, but I do like to come and cheer these on! These are some great people back here behind me playing. They’re almost pros, if not pros! They bring in their bags, and they are ready to play. Right now, teams are going on, they’re playing teams, and then after lunch it’ll be individuals and they’ll compete,” said Madison Endres, marketing manager for West Tennessee Public Utility District.

The festival continues through the week and closes Saturday, September 6, with rides, shows and the TLC concert at 6:30 p.m. at the WKT Amphitheater. Learn more here.
