Gene Gray

Gene Gray, 91, of Union City passed away Sunday morning, August 31, 2025, at his home.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at First Church of God in Union City. His son, Brother Ron Gray will officiate. Burial will follow in Obion County Memorial Gardens.

There will be no formal visitation and friends are invited to assemble at First Church of God beginning at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Pallbearers will be Ryan Gray, C.J. Williams, Ethan Allen, Courtland Gray, Coleman Gray and Chase Lilly.

Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Memorial contributions may take the form of donations to First Church of God 415 S. Miles Avenue, Union City, Tennessee 38261 or the charity of the donor’s choice.

Gene was born April 2, 1934, in Obion County, son of the late Andrew and Mary D. (Council) Gray. He was preceded in death by his wife of 72 years Betty Jo (Childers) Gray on May 3, 2024. Gene was a retired employee of the former Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company and was a charter member of First Church of God in Union City.

He is survived by his two children, Ron Gray and wife Wanda and Gina Hedrick and husband Jeff all of Union City; three grandchildren, Ryan Gray and C.J. Williams and wife Shannon of Union City and Nikki Lilly and husband Chase of Counce; five great grandchildren, Ethan Allen of Paducah, Kentucky, Courtland Gray and Coleman Gray both of Seymour, Sarah Jane Williams of Union City and Avery Lilly of Counce; one sister, Merry Leip of Union City; and one brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Charlotte Gray of Union City.

He was also preceded in death by one grandson, Daren Gray.
