Madison County Highway Committee meets to discuss future projects
JACKSON, Tenn. — Wednesday, the Madison County Highway Committee met to discuss future projects.
They discussed the East Elementary project that would expand Ashport Road to provide extra safety for students and families. They also re-visited an offsite traffic study at Pope Elementary.
This would gather data for Officials to make decision on help to improve overall traffic safety near the school.
“Basically, that’s the reason we’re doing this, is for safety reasons. I mean, obviously, we want to make sure that our children are safe, number one. Traffic is moving and flowing the way it’s supposed to, number two. We just want to make sure that it’s the best it can possibly be to make sure that traffic’s flowing and we provide the safety we need to provide for the children that are out there,” said Jeff Wall, Director of Operations at the Madison County Sheriff’s Office.
The Committee will hold their next meeting later this year.
