Car crash uproots fire hydrant in north Jackson
JACKSON, Tenn. — We heard reports from tipsters about a busted fire hydrant here in Jackson. Here’s what we found.
Around 2 p.m. Friday, we began receiving reports of water gushing high into the air. When our team arrived on scene, we were informed that the damage was caused by a vehicle crashing into the hydrant.
The damaged vehicle had already been removed from the scene by the time we arrived.
The incident took place near the intersection of West University Parkway and North Highland Avenue.
It took teams from the Jackson Fire Department, Jackson Energy Authority and Jackson Police Department to get the uprooted hydrant under control.
