Public hearing held for new charter school in Jackson
JACKSON, Tenn. — The Jackson-Madison County School Board held a public hearing for a new charter school.
The Jackson Museum School is a proposed new charter school with a hands-on and minds-on innovative model.
This model serves students who may need something different than a traditional public school. Members of the Jackson Museum School are continuing to challenge the board with an appeal to open its doors.
“The next step for us is that we’re still working really hard in opening this school, but as far as the appeal process–this was it,” said Dr. Jean Little, CEO/ Late Founder of Jackson Museum School.
From this appeal process, the Jackson Museum School is waiting to get a decision from the executive director of the Tennessee Public Charter School Commission, Tess Stovall, on her recommendation and her staff.
The state charter will then vote on October 16.
