Lane College Dragons kick off its regular season
JACKSON, Tenn.—Football fans rallied together at Lane College to celebrate the team’s season opener.
Lane College’s Dragons football team kicked off its season Saturday against Lincoln University of Missouri’s Blue Tigers.
It was a great turn out as fans packed the Rothrock Stadium in Jackson to check out all the action and cheer on the Dragons.
We spoke to one senior Dragon’s player to get a little insight into today’s challenge.
“With our defense, we’ve got a good group. We’ve got good athletes of the defense side. On our offense, we’ve got a good group that’s explosive and we can move the ball. It’s the first game out here. We’re ready to make a statement and win this game,” said Zarek Williams, Senior Tight End, Lane College Dragons.
Just prior to the half, the Dragons were down by 7 in hopes of making a winning comeback.
Both teams put up on a strong fight in the season opener. But unfortunately by the game’s end, Lincoln University of Missouri beat Lane College with a final score of 27-15.
The Dragons next game will be against Allen University on September 13 at 6pm in South Carolina.
