Symphony season kicks off in Jackson

JACKSON, Tenn.— The Jackson Symphony kicks off its 65th season of music.

A symphony performance was held at the Carl Perkins Civic Center beginning at 7:30 Saturday night.

This was the first concert performance with the organization’s new music director Paul Haas.

The performance titled “Virtuoso Unveiled” also featured some surprises with internationally acclaimed violinist Blake Pouliot of Canada with a guest solo performance.

“It is amazing and an honor to have an orchestra of this caliber in West Tennessee. We’re a regional orchestra and most people don’t expect the level of talent and skill that you would find in a larger city like Nashville or Memphis,” said Tracey King, Director of Marketing for Jackson Symphony.

The event had a fantastic turn out welcoming the newest additions to the Jackson Symphony.

The next event is a free concert with its 45th Annual Starlight Symphony at First Presbyterian Church on September 27, 2025,at 7 PM.
