William Jerald Froman
William Jerald Froman, known to family and friends simply as Jerald, passed away on September 5, 2025, in Jackson, TN.
He was born on January 22, 1938, in Madison County, TN, the son of the late Jesse Lee Froman and Elsie Irene Collins Froman Cisco.
On July 14, 1987, Jerald married the love of his life, Betty Gwendell Ivy, and together they shared 38 years of devotion and laughter. Jerald worked for American Olean Tile for more than 30 years before retiring, where he was known for his strong work ethic and reliability.
Outside of work, Jerald was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, and camping. He had a gift for humor, always quick with a joke or ready to “cut up,” bringing smiles to those around him. A man of faith, Jerald was an active member of New Beginnings Baptist Church in Oakfield, TN, where he worshiped and built lasting friendships. He also enjoyed spending time with his dogs and cats over the years.
Jerald is survived by his wife, Betty Gwendell Ivy Froman; his daughter, Carrie Whistle; granddaughters, Julie and Kaycie; four great-grandchildren; and his brother, Jesse Lee Froman.
A service to celebrate Jerald’s life will be held on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at the North Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons, with Bro. Larry Koonce, Bro. Dennis McMahan, and Bro. Allen Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Oakfield Cemetery. The family will receive friends beginning at 11:00 a.m., two hours prior to the service.
Jerald will be remembered for his sense of humor, his love of the outdoors, and the warmth he shared with his family, friends, and community.
