Robert Sidney Mobley

Robert Sidney Mobley, 76, of Gilbert, SC passed away on Sunday, September 7, 2025. He was born on January 4, 1949 in Rock Hill, SC to the late Frances L. Mobley and William S. Mobley. He was a loyal follower of Christ and loved his family dearly.

Robert was an Eagle Scout and loved the outdoors. He enjoyed participating in baseball, tennis, golf, bowling, hunting, fishing, and scuba diving. He was also a lover of American History and appreciated treasure hunting and collecting artifacts. He enjoyed his retirement on his back porch and traveling with friends & family throughout all 48 contiguous states.

He is survived by his wife, Ann Hayes Mobley; son, Robert H. Mobley (Janet); granddaughters, Morgan and Addyson; daughter, Leigh M. Counts (Chad); grandson, Kaminer H. Counts (Kaytlin); great-grandsons, Boone and Brixton; granddaughters, Susannah and Courtney Counts; and sister, Anne M. Hill.

In addition to his parents, Robert was predeceased by his brother, William W. Mobley.

Visitation will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, September 12, 2025 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home – Lexington Chapel, 503 North Lake Drive, Lexington, SC 29072, with a funeral service to follow at 2:00 PM. Burial will follow the service at Elmwood Cemetery, 501 Elmwood Avenue Columbia, SC 29201.
