Suzanne Gobelet Chandler

Suzanne Chandler Jackson Tn Obituary

With deep sorrow and love, we announce the passing of Madeline Suzanne Gobelet Chandler, who entered eternal rest on September 9, 2025 at the age of 75. Known to all as Suzanne, she was a woman of grace and beauty, whose smile and radiance touched the lives of many.

Born on May 6, 1950, in Jackson, TN, to Dr. Julian and Christine Todd Gobelet, Suzanne was proud of her hometown. Her elegance and talent won her the titles of Miss South Side in 1968 and Miss UT Martin in 1970. Suzanne’s charm could be felt by all who knew her.

Suzanne’s musical talents were well-known. At just 15 years old, she served as the organist for Malesus United Methodist Church. An accomplished pianist and organist, she loved sharing her gifts with others. She could play the accordion and even performed as the lead singer of a band in the 1980s. But her most meaningful music was made when she sang with her sisters Julie and Jan. The Gobelet Girls brought such joy to family and friends with their harmonies.

For 25 years Suzanne dedicated her knowledge of the sciences to her career as a Medical Technologist. Above all, she treasured her job as ‘SuSu’ to her family the most. She was a loving mother and would tell anyone who would listen how proud she was of her daughter and son-in-law. Her grandchildren were the light of her world and her favorite activities were sleepover nights with them and hearing about all their accomplishments.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Megan and Will Clampitt; her grandchildren Bo, Todd, and Mae Margaret Clampitt; her sister and brother-in-law Jan and Scott Baker; her nieces, Christina Newsom (Corey Gutgsell) and Michelle (Pete) King; her nephew Garret Freeland; and her great nieces Kayli Fullington, Abby and Alivia King. She was preceded in death by her parents Dr. Julian and Christine Todd Gobelet, and her sister and brother-in-law Julie and Gary Freeland.

A celebration of Suzanne’s life will be held on September 27, 2025 at 1 pm at Malesus United Methodist Church in Jackson, TN.
