JACKSON, Tenn. –Monday, the Jackson Police Department’s police force is much stronger after the swearing in of new officers.
Five officers and one intelligence analyst were sworn in during a special ceremony Monday in the lobby of the Jackson Police Department.
We spoke with Deputy Chief Gary Benton who tells us what new recruits have ahead of them.
“They will start doing our orientation and once they go through our orientation we will get them a slot in the academy and they will be at Donnelson for three months at the academy there and once they get back they will be riding with fill training officers and ultimately be cut loose on there own,” said Benton.
