Carroll County tourism generated more than $11.2 million in 2024

TOURISM IN CARROLL COUNTY GENERATED $11,291,221 IN VISITOR SPENDING IN 2024
Report Shows Tourism Remains a Key Economic Driver
Carroll County, Tenn. – Visitors to Carroll County generated $11,291,221 in spending in 2024, representing a 5.12% increase from 2023, according to newly released data from Tourism Economics and the Tennessee Department of Tourist Development.Â
“We are excited to learn more than $11 million was spent by visitors to Carroll County.” said Brad Hurley, President of Carroll County Chamber of Commerce. “Approximately $500,000 in local taxes were generated by our visitors, which is good news for all Carroll Countians.”Â
BY THE NUMBERS*:Â
Direct visitor spending in Carroll County generated $593,698 in state tax revenue and $484,664 in local tax revenue.Â
If it were not for state and local taxes generated by tourism, each household in Carroll County would pay $96 more in state and local taxes.Â
Carroll County ranked 70 among 95 counties in Tennessee based on visitor spending.Â

“I’m so grateful to our amazing tourism and hospitality industry for these remarkable results,” said Mark Ezell, Commissioner of the Tennessee Department of Tourist Development. “The Tennessee Tourism team has been able to leverage bigger tourism budgets to help grow visitor spending over 36% in these last six years. We are leading the nation as one of just a few states that are aggressively growing tax revenue from non–Tennessee residents to benefit all seven million Tennesseans.”Â
Statewide, Tennessee’s tourism industry broke records for the fourth consecutive year in 2024, generating $31.66 billion in direct visitor spending and welcoming 147 million visitors.
