Mostly Dry & Hot Weather this Week, Few Showers Back Friday into the Weekend!
WBBJ 7 Forecast Update
WBBJ 7 Forecast Update:
It was 96° in Jackson at 4pm today and mid 90s are expected to continue through Friday. We will cool down a bit this weekend but temperatures will remain above average for the next 7 days. Rain chances are slim this evening and will remain slim to none the next couple of days. There will be a few showers on Friday, but there will be a better chance for rain this weekend. Do not get that excited through as chances currently sit between 20-30% at best this weekend. Catch the full forecast details coming up here.

THIS WEEK:
There were a few storms on Sunday that were tracking south into West Tennessee but as they reached our area, they fell apart and most of us missed out on the rain on Sunday and Monday. Rain chances are slim for a few days but will be coming back on Friday and chances are looking pretty good this weekend as well. Highs will stay above normal through the weekend as well before cooling back down near normal as we head into next week. Tuesday was quite hot again but fell a little short of the record as highs topped out in the mid 90s. The winds were calm most of the day but increased to around 5 MPH and came out of the southeast at times during the day. We saw mostly sunny skies and almost all of us missed out on the rain. Overnight lows will again fall down to the mid 60s.

Wednesday and Thursday will be very similar to Tuesday with highs in the mid 90s and mostly sunny skies. There might be a few more clouds late Thursday depending on the timing of the next system but we are expecting the dry weather to linger through the middle of the week. The winds will vary in direction on Wednesday but primarily come out of the east and primarily come out of the south on Thursday. Both nights overnight lows will stay in the mid 60s. Both days will be hot but the humidity will NOT play much of a factor.

The next chance for rain for most of us is coming on Friday and the next system will begin to move through the region. Some of the football Friday night could be impacted so you will need to monitor the forecast as the week goes on so you have the appropriate gear before you head out. It is not a lock we are going to see much as of now, chances for rain are at 20 on Friday. Expect that number to go up a bit this weekend when we get more confidence in the forecast. Highs on Friday will reach the low 90s and the skies will be partly cloudy. The winds will come out of the southwest and Friday night lows will also drop into the mid 60s to kick off the weekend.

THE WEEKEND:
As of now the weekend is looking quite promising for rain chances across the Mid South including all of West Tennessee. Chances for rain are around 30-40% each day so far this weekend. There is a lot in the forecast yet to be determined about which day and who is the most likely to pick up some beneficial rain showers from the next system. The system is going to move through though and cool things down some into next week. Highs this weekend will be around 90° and expect a mix of sun and clouds. If it does rain, it will not be steady and ruin outdoor plans; as of now, the showers look quite spotty. Overnight lows will stay in the mid 60s and it will be a bit more humid this weekend than earlier in the week. Cooler weather looks to be coming next week but we will stay above average through the weekend.
