KINGSPORT, Tenn. – Northwest Tennessee Tourism is proud to announce that three regional leaders were honored at the Tennessee Hospitality & Tourism Association’s Stars of the Industry Awards, held September 18 during the annual Governor’s Conference on Hospitality & Tourism. This prestigious statewide event recognizes individuals who exemplify excellence in service, leadership, and dedication to Tennessee’s hospitality and tourism industry.

This year, three Northwest Tennessee nominees brought home top honors:

  • Scott Williams, CEO of Discovery Park of America – Tourism General Manager of the Year (Large)
  • Alan Laderman, Owner of Sammies, The Grind Mac & Cheese Burger Bar, and Woodfire Pizza Kitchen – Restaurant General Manager of the Year (Independent)
  • Michael Avery, Tour Guide at Southland Safari – Tourism Employee of the Year (Small Budget)

Northwest Tennessee Tourism proudly nominated all its award winners from their inaugural Cornerstone Tourism Awards earlier this year, helping spotlight their work on the statewide stage.

“We are thrilled to have three winners representing Northwest Tennessee,” said Kasey Muench, Executive Director of Northwest Tennessee Tourism. “I know these three work diligently in their line of work to make every visitor’s experience the best it can be. It’s a real treat to see them recognized on a larger scale. They deserve it!”
