West TN Drug Task Force seizes Cocaine, other drugs during interdiction operation

The following information was announced to Facebook by the West TN Drug Task Force – 28th, 29th, and 30th Judicial Districts.

During the early morning hours of Friday 9/19/25, Agents with the 30th Judicial District out Memphis seized 2.5 pounds of Cocaine, 5 bottles (507 total pills) of OxyContin and one bottle (398 total pills) of Alprazolam (Xanax) during a criminal interdiction operation.
This seizure was made in the 38131 zip code which ranks high in Memphis’s most dangerous zip codes. Agents made this seizure under the Governor’s Violent Crime Intervention Funding (VCIF) Zip Code Grant which provides funding to reduce violent crime in Tennessee’s 10 most violent zip codes.
This is an active case that remains under investigation and no further information is being released at this time.
Drug Task Force Director Johnie Carter said, “I just want to commend my staff and reiterate that my Drug Task Force Agents and I are putting in long hours at making west Tennessee a safer place for all just as we always have.”
This case will be prosecuted by the Shelby County District Attorney’s Office.
