Artificial intelligence improving efficiency in the operating room
JACKSON, Tenn. — Artificial intelligence is shaping the way we do many things in our lives — now, it is helping with certain surgical procedures.
If you have ever felt a painful bump at the base of your big toe, you are not alone.
Bunions are one of the most common foot deformities affecting nearly one in three Americans.
They can cause swelling, soreness, and make walking incredibly painful.
Dr. Michael Campbell tells us more about it.
“The goal is to get the foot really lined up and corrected right the first time so there is no need for any redo,” Dr. Campbell said. “Better alignment and better correction results in better outcomes.”
The procedure leads to shorter operating times, and it saves up to 30 minutes per procedure.
