Crews respond to morning wreck near airport, motorcyclist killed

UPDATE: According to a preliminary report by the THP, the wreck occurred around 6:26 a.m. at SR 223 & Technology Center Drive. It involved a 2015 Chrysler 300 and a 1989 Honda XLV (motorcycle). THP confirms the driver of the motorcycle, a 57-year-old Tennessee resident, was fatally injured. The driver of the Chrysler, also a Tennessee resident, received injuries as well. Possible charges are pending the outcome of the investigation.


MADISON COUNTY, Tenn. — Earlier Thursday morning, multiple emergency vehicles rushed to the scene of a multi-vehicle wreck on Highway 223.

This occurred in Madison County near the airport on Smith Lane.

When we arrived on the scene, a tow truck was seen hauling away a black sedan with extensive damage.

Tennessee Highway Patrol was on the scene. We have reached out to them to confirm additional details.
