Selmer laundromat returns new & improved after storm damage

SELMER, Tenn. — One Selmer business is back up and running after the devastating storms back in April.

The McNairy County Chamber of Commerce celebrated the grand opening of the new and improved “Sparkly Duds.”

The laundromat was completely destroyed by a tornado that went through Selmer earlier this year.

But with help from the local community, Sparkly Duds returns with modern equipment, including twenty-four large capacity machines and a new payment system.

“Well we’re super excited to be back opened in the community, especially after everything that’s happened,” said co-owner Lori Blattler.

“Everything went quick, nothing was held up on anything getting permits and what we needed,” said co-owner Brian Blattler. “And then also we had some debris help clean up even here when we had all the equipment brought in we had 50 pallets in here stacked up and the city got those removed for us and that was really good.”

The laundromat is located at 261 Mulberry Avenue in Selmer.
