What’s New Wednesday: Muddy Paws Dog Wash

JACKSON, Tenn. — Muddy Paws Dog Wash opened in the Hub City in August.

It’s a self-service salon for canines designed to help our furry friends stay fresh and lovable.

“It’s all self-service,” said co-owner Matt Nelson. “You come in with your dog, everything’s provided, you have soap for your dog, your rinse, your conditioners — all the things that you need to get your dog clean is all provided in one machine.”

Nelson tells us that he and his wife are lifelong dog people, and got the idea to open Muddy Paws in Jackson after running across similar businesses in other areas.

“We’re the only self-service dog wash in town. It’s fully automated, it’s just a unique thing, unique, new to Jackson, but that’s why we wanted to be the first for it,” said Nelson.

Nelson says the business is walk-in based and no appointments are necessary.

If your dog has nervous tendencies or can be shy around others, don’t worry: each wash station is gated off into its own section, separating you and your pet from other visitors.

As Nelson reminds, getting your dog washed up at home can come with a series of struggles, so when it comes to visiting a washing station, you can’t beat the convenience.

“Washing dogs in the backyard, and your back killing you, and them rolling in the grass…” Nelson describes. “Then you do it inside, then you clog up your drains, and towels to wash afterwards, it’s… It’s a mess. So in fifteen minutes for fifteen dollars, you leave here with a clean, dry puppy.”

And of course, treats are available to close out your pup’s experience with a tasty reward.

Muddy Paws Dog Wash is located at 19 D North Star Drive in Jackson. They’re open 6 a.m. – 10 p.m. seven days a week.
