$250,000 check presented to Alice and Carl Kirkland Cancer Center

JACKSON, Tenn. — Thursday, a check was presented to the Alice and Carl Kirkland Cancer Center in Jackson following the recent “Swinging Fore Hope” golf tournament.

This year’s tournament raised more the $250,000 for the patient needs fund at the Kirkland Cancer Center.

A former patient of the Kirkland Cancer Center and now a member of its advisory board tells us how the funds raised will be used.

“So anywhere from medication, transportation, also sometimes housing, these patients are going through a hard time and when they’re getting treatments, it’s hard for them to take care of things and we just help them get through other battles that they may be going through during this hard time,” said Ann Marie Kelley, former patient and member of the Kirkland Cancer Center Advisory Board.

Leaders with the Alice and Carl Kirkland Cancer Center say they are thankful to the West Tennessee community in supporting its mission.
