David Bruce Carden
Bruce was born March 21, 1947 in Jackson, Tennessee to the late John David Carden and Jewel Deming Carden. He was a former member of the Bemis Pentecostal Church and was a loyal follower of Christ and loved his family dearly.
Bruce graduated from North Side High School in 1967 and soon after went to work at Jackson Madison County General Hospital as a surgical orderly. He retired in 2003 after 35 years of dedicated service. Bruce was always proud of his time at the hospital. Bruce was a kind soul and if he ever met you, he would not forget you and what you did. Bruce loved music and was an Elvis fan, often doing impersonations at hospital picnics.
Besides his mother, Jewel Carden, he is survived by sister Jamie Carden Boone (Bruce), and niece Amanda Boone Holmes (Kurt).
The family wishes to thank the caregivers at Northbrook Post Acute. Special thanks to the staff at Alexandria Place in Jackson, Tennessee, who greatly improved his quality of life during his final six years battling Parkinson’s disease.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, October 4, 2025 at 11 am at Highland Memorial Gardens. George A. Smith and Sons Funeral home is in charge of service.
