Selmer celebrates grand-opening of new police department headquarters

SELMER, Tenn. — The City of Selmer celebrated the grand opening of its new police department Friday.

The new building is located at 133 Warren Avenue.

For the past several years, the Selmer Police Department has worked out of three rooms in the back of their city hall building.

Selmer Mayor Sherry Inman and State Senator Page Walley were in attendance. Leaders with police department say the new location will be more accessible.

“It’s going to make things easier, it’s going to make things work better. It should make things work a whole lot better for the citizens and us,” said Selmer Police Chief Kim Holley.

This plan has been in the works for the last few years.
