City employee helps child seen walking along Bypass

This morning, one of our Street Department employees, Wayne Dodd, did something extraordinary.

While out on his route, Wayne noticed a small child walking along the [Highway 45] Bypass. He stopped immediately and made sure the child was safe until authorities could locate the family. The child has since been reunited with his loved ones.

Stories like this remind us why the City of Jackson, TN – Government has the best employees anywhere. They are people who care deeply about our community and go above and beyond every day.

Not all heroes wear capes. Some wear safety vests.
