On Tuesday, September 30, a person was found dead in a vehicle in the parking lot of Gold’s Gym in Jackson.

Jackson Police shared that the death was not in connection to the gym, and no foul play was suspected. The individual has not been identified at this time.

Upon arrival to the scene, police also discovered a dog inside the vehicle.

Police have now confirmed with us that an investigator took the dog to the vet, where it was brought up to date on all of its vaccinations.

It was discovered that the dog is microchipped, and that information led to the mother of the deceased being contacted, who police say is traveling from out of state to pick up the dog.

The dog was also groomed as it prepared for its safe return, all thanks to the caring actions of this Jackson Police investigator.
