Rain Out for Now, Sun & Mild Weather Returning this Week!
WBBJ 7 Forecast Update
WBBJ 7 Forecast Update:
The highest rain amounts from last night and earlier today in West Tennessee were along the Mississippi River (especially west of Memphis). In our viewing area, between Jackson and Trenton, areas picked up over an inch as well as areas between Bolivar and Savannah in McNairy county. We are not expecting much tonight as the cold front passes, but a brief quick shower cannot be ruled out. Skies will remain mostly cloudy tonight but will break up and move out during the day on Wednesday. Sunny skies and mild weather will be on the way as we wrap up the work week and head into the weekend; as another area of high pressure will move in for several days. Catch the latest on the fall weather moving in here.

THIS WEEK:
After a great weekend clouds moved in on our Monday and will be hanging around into the first half of the day on Wednesday. Rain showers returned Monday night and were heavy at times Tuesday morning. A few rumbles of thunder showed up and a couple of non severe storms could spark up Tuesday afternoon close to the Tennessee River in the late evening but we are not expecting much. By Wednesday, dry weather will move back in and stick around through the weekend.

Tuesday was a cloudy and rainy day but it will be a bit humid as well. Highs reached up to around 80° into the afternoon. Showers impacted many of us during our morning commutes but the rain broke up into the afternoon. As the system clears out and the next cold front gets a little closer, a few storms could spark up in the late evening hours, but they might not even develop in West Tennessee. Any rain chances should move out Tuesday night. The winds varied in direction but predominantly came out of the west on the back side of the low. Tuesday night lows will fall down to the low 60s.

Expect some morning and afternoon clouds on Wednesday but the skies should clear out by Wednesday night. Highs on Wednesday will only reach the mid 60s behind the early morning cold front. The winds will come out of the northeast and overnight lows will be a bit chilly dropping into the low 50s. There could be a few showers or two before the sun comes up but in general, Wednesday is going to be a mostly dry day.

Really nice weather will move in for Thursday and Friday in West Tennessee. Highs will reach the mid 70s on Thursday before warming back up to the upper 70s on Friday. The forecast is calling for mostly sunny skies both days, but do not count on much in the way of clouds. Both days will be rain free as well. The winds on Thursday will stay out of the northeast but transition more to the east on Friday. Friday night football looks really nice again for everyone in the Mid South. Although it will feel cool compared to where we have been the last few weekends, temperatures will actually be right around average for this time of the year.
THE WEEKEND:
Another splendid weekend appears to be on the way for West Tennessee. Highs will reach the low 80s on Saturday and could even reach the mid 80s on Sunday. There will be only a few clouds on Saturday and sunny skies look to dominate on Sunday. The winds this weekend will come out of the east on Saturday and move back to the southeast by Sunday. Rain is NOT in the forecast for either day. Make some more outdoor plans as this is about as nice of an October weekend as we get in West Tennessee. Nice weather will be sticking around for the start of next week as well!
