Resource fair in Jackson offers support to vulnerable veterans
JACKSON, Tenn. — A resource fair was held in the Hub City to help veterans with benefits and much more.
Veterans showed up at the Carl Perkins Civic Center Tuesday for a resource fair. The event took place from 10 am until 1 pm.
Attendees were able to learn more about housing, VA benefits, employment, community resources, food boxes, legal issues and more.
“Nobody’s whole, and so when you find somebody that’s been through just all kinds of trauma, or all kinds of hard life — we don’t like to just say that ‘Well yeah we can find you a house,’ but we want to see that they can get treatment in all areas of their life with mental health, employment and housing,” said Travis Nebeker, Veterans Resource Fair event organizer with Tennessee Homeless Solutions.
This event was sponsored by the City of Jackson, Tennessee Homeless Solutions, and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.
