WRAP’S 2nd Purple Sand Project sheds light on domestic violence
JACKSON, Tenn. — Most West Tennesseans know of the Red Sand Project, which raise awareness for human trafficking, but WRAP is using another color of sand to let people know about the tragedy of domestic violence.
This is the second annual Purple Sand Project designed by WRAP to raise awareness and honor victims of domestic violence.
A Facebook post from WRAP shows “Purple Sand” projects to help spread awareness and remember those lost.
“The goal is awareness, know who you’re talking to, understand the signs, you know? Ask questions, just be a friend, don’t judge, be a listening ear so they feel confident to tell somebody,” said Ashley Horton, senior domestic violence response specialist with WRAP.
WRAP offers many things to assist those who are victims of domestic violence or sexual assault.
