Jackson International Food and Art Festival Announces Celebration for Mural
[JACKSON, TN, October 10, 2025] Jackson International Food and Art Festival (JIFAF) Executive Board proudly announces a community event on Friday, October 17, 3:00 p.m. at 301 E. Lafayette to celebrate the debut of the JIFAF mural.
The JIFAF mural will support the year-round mission of the JIFAF to spread cultural awareness, promote cross-cultural engagement and celebrate the diverse backgrounds of residents throughout West Tennessee.
Created by local artist Rose Newhouse, the mural is a visual representation of the diverse cultures that celebrate and share their traditional music, food, art, and traditional cultural attire and flags from around the world with the community during the annual festival.
“The first festival was in downtown Jackson, surrounded by historical buildings and vibrant Gingko trees. The JIFAF executive committee felt it was important to create the mural in downtown Jackson, where the festival started in 2014. We want to thank local artist Rose Newhouse and the property owner for providing their building as a canvas for the mural,” said Dr. Sandra Dee, JIFAF co-chair.
